Currently, the Chairman of Nepal Investment Bank Ltd, he has been in the field for more than 30 years and his expertise is one of the legacies Nepalese Banking Industry can count on. Started his career as a banker from Central Bank in 1978, he led Foreign Exchange Department, Banking Supervision Department and Finance & Accounts Department during his 10 years’ tenure. He was also deputed to International Monetary Fund from Central Bank of Nepal for two years (1986 – 1988).

Maheshwor Prakash Shrestha is an eminent banking figure in Nepal, presently working as Coordinator for formation of Infrastructure Bank under the patronage of Nepal Government and involvement of about 20 local Banks, Asian Development Bank, International Finance Corporation, KFW and Indian Infrastructure Institute.

His more than 15 years’ experience in both private and public sector has immensely contributed to the qualitative expansion of Financial Sector of Nepal. He has also been appointed a Consultant of Central Bank of Nepal, under the deputation of Rastriya Banijya Bank for the Financial Sector Reform Project financed by the Word Bank, 2003-2006 and served as Deputy General Manager of Nepal Investment Bank. An accomplished banker, he has continued to steer the sector with his professionalism ever since he started his career from Himalayan Bank Ltd as Chief of Internal Audit Department & Chief of Account Department, (1998-2003).

Currently, he is the Chairman of PATA Nepal Chapter and General Secretary of Airlines Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN). He is a founding Chairman of Creative Builders Collaborative (P) LTD and responsible for Project Management, Co ordination and Implementation of most of the projects of the company. He is a B. Tech Architecture (Honours) Graduate from I.I.T Kahrgapur, West Bengal India and Diploma in Real Estate Development & CAD from Harvard Design School, USA. He has been responsible for the all the architectural planning and designing of more than 30 projects.
